Sensory Homunculus
Sensory Homunculus (nerve-weighted man)

Description: This model shows what a man's body would look like if each part grew in proportion to the area of the cortex of the brain concerned with its sensory perception. This model is called sensory Homunculus (Homunculus means very small man).
Homunculus: The representation of the human body in the sensory and motor cortex; also any topographical representation of the body by a neural area. More neurons may be dedicated to certain regions of the body than others - for example, the fingers have many more nerve endings than the toes. We can use this to construct a distorted map of the body which shows the emphasis given to certain regions of the body's surface.
